Demo on parallel change requests in MDG-M

Hi,

with the newest MDG 7.0 release SAP will support parallel change requests. Of course, SAP MDG supported already parallel steps in one change requests but it was not possible to start a second change request for the same record. Now, with MDG 7.0 exactly this is possible!

The concept of parallel change requests makes maybe most sense in the context of materials but its supported for all domains including custom objects.

Some bullet points on the topic: "Support of Parallel Change Requests - Multiple Change Requests per Material at the same time"

  • Why?
    • MDG`s comprehensives data models:
MDG-M many views, >400 attributes including organization-dependent data
    • One object, multiple owners & maintainers
During change, data of plant A is processed  and approved  in parallel  and independently by other people than data  of plant B
GOAL: Faster organizations are not required to wait  for the slowest!!
    • Multiple & concurrent reasons  for changes
All in parallel: Add new plant data (long duration!), update  of dimensions,  urgent  corrections of wrong description
GOAL: Long term changes do not block urgent corrections!
  • What?
    • Parallel Change Requests as standard feature in MDG 7.0
    • Initiate and process concurrent changes to the same object
    • Independent processing of each change request e.g. own notes, own log, process flow and processors, individual approval, rejection and finalization
    • Consistency by preventing that the same attributes are changed  by concurrent  change requests.
